NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS came to share the momentous occasion yesterday with Leoni Griffith on her 100th birthday, only her brothers and sisters in Christ.
The centenarian lives at Good Citizens Care Home, Grazettes Main Road, St Michael. Chairman of the National Committee on Ageing, Sylvester Niles, was also there and presented a hamper to Griffith.
Griffith’s nurse at the home for the elderly, Marcia Brathwaite-Reece, and her long-time church friend Violet Wiggins, who also looked after her for a few years, said she had no children and was unaware of her extended family.
