AT 5 P.M. the centre of Tropical Storm Danny was located near latitude 11.5 degrees north, longitude 42.0 degrees West.
Danny is moving toward the west near ten miles per hour (17 kilometres per hour), and a west-northwestward motion at a slightly slower forward speed is expected during the next 48 hours.
The National Hurricane Center says maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Danny could still become a hurricane by Friday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the centre. (NB)
