JUST OVER $30 000 has been raised to date towards the restoration of the historic Carnegie Library that was abandoned nearly eight years ago due to structural damage.
This is far short of the estimated $4 million needed for the restoration of the Coleridge Street, Bridgetown building that was built in 1906.
Chairman of the Preservation Task Force and Preservation Trust, Sir Henry Fraser, said the fundraising drive had not yet begun in earnest and he was hopeful that enough money would be generated to pave the way for the start of renovations this year.
