SEVERAL POLICE officers were injured earlier this evening following a vehicle crash in Fitts Village, St James.

Though details surround in the accident were unclear, police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch denied that the crash was the result of a high-speed chase.

He confirmed that four police officers and one civilian were hurt in the accident.

The crash caused a back-up of traffic as vehicles were diverted from the heavily-used Highway One which feeds several West Coast communities. (GE)
