BLAME Tropical Storm Danny for yesterday’s scorching heat.
Meteorologist Brian Murray said the temperature reached a maximum of 31.2 degrees Celsius but it would have felt like 41 degrees Celsius.
The Barbados Meteorological Services official said that Danny, which passed north of the island, had caused a significant drop in wind speeds and that made humid conditions even worse.
He added that anytime there was a hurricane or tropical storm to the north of Barbados, wind speeds dropped dramatically, resulting in hot and dry conditions.
The hot conditions forced residents to seek relief at beaches.
