Read, car in good nick to take title

JOSHUA READ is the International RallySprint champion.

He won the title in fine fashion with a flawless performance from a 23-strong field of international and local drivers at the Vaucluse Raceway last week.

Sitting at the wheel of the Stihl/Gliptone/Sprite/Hankook/Weetabix/Chutney’s/Royal Purple/EZone Toyota Starlet, he gave notice of his intentions from the qualifying rounds as he posted the fastest time of two minutes, 03.673 seconds while repeatedly recording the fastest times throughout the day’s proceedings.

He was fastest in the knockout round with a time of two minutes, 01.973 seconds, and stamped his authority on the event by returning the fastest overall time of two minutes, 01.475 while disposing of Ryan “Woodie” Wood in the final handicap.
