A SON OF THE SOIL is gaining ground in United States soccer.

Former national youth footballer Stefan “Laddy” King has been accepted into the coveted National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) coaching programme, “30 under 30”.

The 30 under 30 initiative is an elite training programme for 30 (15 males, 15 females) of the best coaches in the United States under the age of 30 years old.

The former Deighton Griffith Secondary School student was selected out of a crop of 500 applicants by the NSCAA panel of distinguished coaches.

King had performed exceptionally well as a player during his stint at NCAA Division I school Western Illinois University (WIU), where he won a conference championship in his first season and captained the team in his final two seasons.
