CUSTOMS OFFICERS have until the end of September to apply for positions within that department.

General secretary of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), Roslyn Smith, told the DAILY NATION yesterday, following another meeting with the workers’ unions and Government officials at Government Headquarters, that the positions had been advertised.

“It means going from there we will see the outcome. The whole process in terms of appointments, supersession, all of those things will be dealt with,” she explained, adding that in the next five or six months they would be ready to look at the option process.

Barbados Workers’ Union general secretary Toni Moore also revealed that the process towards concluding the matter of appointments had started.

However, she said there were some necessary timelines that would have to be in place in which people could apply.
