TODAY’S NATIONAL BODYBULIDING, PHYSIQUE AND FITNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre is missing five big names including Stevenson Belle, a two-time winner of Mr Barbados.

Belle, winner of Mr Barbados in 2011 and 2013, and unquestionably one of the top bodybuilders in the country, was forced to pull out because of a back injury.

The 33-year-old Coast Guard officer told the SATURDAY SUN, he fell as he tried to board a patrol boat a few weeks ago.

The injury, which affects his spinal erectars, affected his mobility initially and at one stage curtailed his training.

“It’s most unfortunate. I wanted to win a third Mr Barbados this weekend. I have some scans and it is not too serious but I have only recently resumed training,” said Belle, who is still undergoing therapy.
