Changes for Parkinson students

A NEW CHANGE is around the corridor for students of Parkinson Memorial School.

Fourth and fifth form students for the first time will have to attend an orientation in full uniform before the start of the new school year. Principal Jeff Broomes told the SUNDAY SUN that four factors supported the new move for the school.

He said firstly the issue of uniforms was a concern for him and needed to be addressed.

“When children move into that stage of [fourth and fifth form] they are not wearing the school uniform appropriately, especially since the introduction of school ties in the last couple of years,” he said.

Punctuality was also not being respected as it should be and had to be brought to the table.  (TKS)
