THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS in seven days.

That’s the additional money accident victim Tara Alleyne needs to get corrective surgery to be able to walk independently again.

Her operation is scheduled for September 14, but costs –  $17 000 – to cover blood tests, the surgery, anaesthetic fees, the stay at Bayview Hospital and other incidentals must be paid seven days in advance.

Last week CIBC Offshore and CIBC Reinsurance contributed $10 000, while her colleagues at KM2 Solutions (Barbados) Ltd raised $3 000 for the Tara Alleyne Surgical Fund.

When the KM2 donation is deposited, the fund, which is managed by two trustees, will only be $14 061.24. (SP)
