Cherry pushing recycling project

WELL KNOWN waste hauler Anderson “Fat Child” Cherry is pushing a more than $60 million recycling project that he hopes  will lead to zero waste going to the landfill by 2020.

Cherry, chief executive officer of Project Recycle Limited made the announcement at  a Press conference at his offices in  The Belle, St Michael, yesterday.

He revealed that so far more than $2 million had been spent  to purchase five vehicles and equipment for Phase I of the three-part project. For Phase II, which is about to begin, $9 million is budgeted and $50 million  for Phase III.

Saying he was not expecting  the venture to haul in major profits for his business, Cherry said that during the first two phases, about 75 people were expected to be employed, with a total of 115 jobs being created when the company became fully operational.
