LIAT announces new winter schedule

ST JOHN’S – LIAT has launched its new winter schedule, which will come into effect from September 15, 2015.

The winter schedule has been brought forward due to the acceleration in the fleet transition process, and the unfortunate situation which currently exists in Dominica.

Antigua and San Juan will benefit from a daily non-stop operation between the airline’s hub and Puerto Rico, allowing customers to arrive at midday, with a mid-afternoon flight back to Antigua, allowing for connection to the US.

In addition, a further non-stop flight will operate from Antigua to San Juan three days a week, effective October 27, leaving at 20:10, and arriving back into Antigua just after midnight, allowing Antiguan passengers to enjoy a full day in Puerto Rico for shopping or business.

The schedule ensures that all critical flights required to maintain services to Dominica, once the airport re-opens, will be in place.

However, it is understood that there will be some airport constraints, and the schedule has been planned with these in mind.

LIAT is hopeful to reinstate flights within the next ten days to Douglas-Charles International Airport.

Guadeloupe enjoys additional frequencies into the island, due to an increase in demand for flights to and from the French market.

The continued growth of Guyana is augmented with an additional three flights per week between Trinidad and Guyana (Ogle). (PR)
