THE ACHIEVEMENTSÂ of students of the Ann Hill School were the toast of the town yesterday.
Four of them made history in this year’s Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) exams, becoming the first ever students from the special education school to sit a CSEC exam.
One girl and three boys can boast of having passed electronic document preparation and management.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Barbados Council for the Disabled visited the Pine Plantation Road, St Michael school to commend the students on their achievements, with education officer Montege Deane-Bowen presenting them with gift vouchers.
Fifth form teacher Kathy Ann St Hill-St Lawrence, who prepared the students for the exam, said she was proud of them, noting that while CXC provided readers and writers, the results were based fully on the efforts of the students. (LT)
