Hair’s the way to do it

FLAMBOYANT and creative coiffures lit up the runway when the People’s Choice Hairstyle Contest took place last Sunday.

Hundreds of hair fans flooded the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre to witness the talent Barbadian hairstylists had to offer and to cheer for their favourite style and model.

The hair show, now in its second year, consisted of three categories: weaves, braids and the fantasy segment. The winners were not the models, but the stylists.  In the weave category, Lisa Jordan of SJ-Stylz walked away with the top prize ahead of Leshelle Goodridge of Leshelle E.K Salon. In the braids segment, Leshelle Goodridge of Leshelle E.K. Salon beat out Claudette Brathwaite of God’s Glory; while in fantasy, first place went to Shanice McCarthy of Five Star Beauty Chick while Natalie Barrow of Nazariahz Stylez was second.
