THE VERDICT IS IN on the new Spring Garden safety measure – welcomed but late.

Almost everyone the SATURDAY SUN spoke to concerning the pedestrian controlled traffic lights, a ramp for the disabled and pedestrian crossing currently under construction, welcomed the idea but added they wished it had been put into place years ago.

Resident Marcia Blenman said she had known there to be accidents on the highway from before the time she had lived there.

“I’ve been here for 20 years and accidents happening before I came. I commend them for the work but it take too long as they said they would do it years ago,” she said, adding she also wanted to see more lighting on the highway. (CA)
