Barbados lose Davis Cup tie

BARBADOS LOST THE Davis Cup Americas Zone Group 1 tie against Ecuador 3-2 today at the National Tennis Centre, Wildey.

In the final match of the meeting, Seanon Williams went down 6-2, 6-1, 6-0 to the more experienced Gonzalo Escobar.

He was a late replacement after Haydn Lewis was unable to play for the second consecutive day, battling persistent back pains.

Earlier, Darian King won his singles matches in straight sets.  (SAT)
