Residents from Well Gap, Cave Hill, St Michael, are cheering the good deed of one of their own but they are also disappointed in the Sanitation Service Authority’s (SSA) effort at keeping the area rubbish-free.
When the garbage truck passed on Friday around mid-morning, residents noticed that it only had a driver. One resident said he watched as the truck made its way through the densely populated area only to realise that the driver was stopping to load the garbage himself.
Zico Miller said he was surprised at the sight but was heartened as another resident from the adjoining development, went home and returned with a pair of gloves and started loading the truck. As it turns out the man, identified only by his first name Shawn, is an employee of SSA and it was his off day. (AC)
