ALL BEACHES in Barbados are supposed to be public, but I read an advertisement in this publication recently about property in St Philip with a semi-private beach for sale.
With the recent confirmation by realtors that lots of foreigners are buying land in Barbados, let us remain vigilant and ensure that we do not start yielding by degrees to preferences or pressure for private beaches and so on.
With the availability of guns and drugs in this country, our authorities must be correct in indicating that some are coming through our ports . . . . Let not petty sensitivity get between our various Government departments while owners of private beaches, drugs and guns control this country.
