Clearing way for Castle

A RESTORED Sam Lord’s Castle as part of a 450-room hotel complex should be a reality by mid-2018.

Chief executive officer of Barbados Tourism Investment Inc., Stuart Layne, made the announcement to the media yesterday as work began on the clearing of the 57-acre St Philip site.

Layne anticipated it would take at least two weeks to clear away the dense bush and demolish several derelict buildings dotting the expansive acreage.

He said this work was being done in preparation for the official ground-breaking which would be taking place “shortly”.
