JetBlue captain falls for Barbados

WITH OVER 250 visits to Barbados in the last six years, JetBlue captain William Stilwell can be considered an “unofficial Bajan”.

Stilwell, who resides in Virginia, United States, came to Barbados on one of JetBlue’s first group of flights to the island and has been in love with the country from then.

“I came down here with the intention of kite surfing, because that’s what I do as a hobby,” he told the MIDWEEKNATION. “I read up on it on the Internet and this is one of the spots to do.”

While his research piqued his interest in the island, it was his first interaction with a Barbadian that sealed the deal for the captain of 15 years.
