Essays ‘not up to mark’

JUDGES IN THE Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Children’s Essay Competition are not happy with some of the essays they are getting.

According to business development officer at the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc’s cruise department, Tia Broomes, the essays don’t meet the mark.

This comment was made in the judges report at the association’s prize giving ceremony for the competition yesterday.

Broomes said that some judges were displeased with the overall content of the essays submitted and said if the children wanted to compete regionally they needed to broaden their awareness. (RG)
