VAUXHALL PRIMARY SCHOOL students were cautioned yesterday about the negative effects of idleness.
And the message came from Head of State, Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave, who said that although “all work and no play” was not practical for young children, they must be productive and strive for excellence.
“You must work hard, otherwise you will end up on the block doing nothing,” he warned, adding that they should stay away from drugs, violence and bad company.
He also implored students to instead become involved in extracurricular activities and healthy lifestyle practices such as reading.
