STAKEHOLDERS MET AT UN House today to review and critique draft legislation which will make the rights and obligations under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities mandatory.

Speaking during the opening session this morning, Minister of Social Care Steve Blackett said laws are critical in ensuring that the rights and obligations are given the legal support necessary for implementation.

He said the Persons with Disabilities Bill, the Employment (Prevention of Discrimination) Bill, the Building Standard Bill and the Road traffic (Amendment) Bill are the four draft bills stakeholders were to review. (YB)
