FOR THE second time this month the leading players in local table tennis have been toppled by a schoolboy.

Fifteen-year-old Combermerian Tyrese Knight knocked off two national players, including his coach, to win the Scouters Top Ten Table Tennis Challenge at the Table Tennis Centre, Nursery Drive, Saturday night.

Knight, who beat Mark Dowell and Abby “Playboy” Clarke to win the Scouter’s Top 20 a couple weeks ago, again knocked off Dowell before beating former Caribbean champion Trevor Farley in the final.

Knight won his semi-final encounter with Dowell 11-5, 6-11, 11-7, 8-11, 12-9 after downing former Caribbean junior champion Dr Shannon Doughlin 11-4, 3-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8 in the quarter-finals.
