Ad caution

ATTORNEY GENERAL Adriel Brathwaite says young men and women in Barbados must be protected against human trafficking, whether here or from the region.

And he has issued a caution to them about responding to newspaper advertisements inviting attractive women to apply for jobs that purportedly offer the opportunity to see the world.

Brathwaite warned that such advertisements could sometimes be in fact for a form of human trafficking in which women were being lured into prostitution.

As for women from the region being brought into Barbados, he noted there were instances where their passports were being withheld, thereby restricting their movement.
