Thousands of cannabis plants seized in St John and St Philip

MORE THAN 18 000 cannabis plants were seized on Wednesday when law enforcement officials conducted a drug eradication exercise in areas of St John and St Philip.

Police say the 18 100 plants, which ranged from one inch to seven feet in height, were found in College Savannah, Codrington and Consett Bay, St John and Palmers, St Philip.

Meanwhile, 64 plants were seized in Carters, St John and Rock Hall, St Philip.

The exercise was conducted by personnel from the Drug Squad, Tactical Response Unit and the Barbados Defence Force.

No arrests were made.  (PR/NB)
