TWO COUNTRIES DOWN, one more to go in Barbados’ fight against blacklisting by the European Union (EU).

President of the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA), Andrew Alleyne, said while Spain and Italy had removed Barbados from their tax avoidance blacklist, those in the sector were now banking on Portugal doing the same to have Barbados’ business reputation restored by yearend.

He told the DAILY NATION, following a commencement service for International Business Week at St Barnabas Anglican Church yesterday, that Barbados should not have been blacklisted by the EU in the first place.
