GARY “KOJAK” THOMAS and Jamal “Bob” Best, two lesser known players, lit up the night as the stars blazed brightly when the Silver Hill road tennis championships continued on Saturday night at the Silver Hill court.
The two homeboys put on a thriller which ended as a heartbreaker for Best as he could not find a guiding star home to lose from 17-12 in the decider as the unflappable Thomas took the match 21-17, 18-21, 24-22.
The large crowd was equally divided in support of the two players while combined in appreciation for a fantastic match.
Thomas took charge of the first game with his ploy of pushing back his opponent and then giving him some deadly injections and short balls.
