THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers is looking to investigate the ongoing environmental concerns at the Pine, St Michael office of the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA).
The issue was not raised at the meeting called with workers at the union yesterday evening, but acting general secretary Roslyn Smith said that outside of the notice of the early closure in the Press, they had not been informed of the “exact environmental problem”.
On yesterday’s meeting, Smith said staff wanted to speak to concerns they had before having to make the decision as to whether to stay with BRA or go back to the Public Service in March next year.
She explained that most of the staff were seconded, and they needed clarification on their pension rights, car loans for travelling officers and job security.
