IT WAS BUMPER to bumper human traffic along the Warrens section of the ABC Highway during the CIBC Walk For The Cure drive last Sunday evening.

Organised by the Barbados Cancer Society, the event attracted a crowd of more than 10 000 people, in a sea of pink shirts, taking part in a 5K and10K walk, along with a 10K run, staring outside the CIBC First Caribbean Bank.

Officials from the Cancer Society reported that more than 10 000 shirts had been sold.

People from all walks of life and all age groups took part in the event that was launched with the singing of the National Anthem by pupils of St Stephen’s Primary School. Massy Stores made a donation of $8 000 to the cause as the 10K runners took to the course.
