THE BARBADOS WATER Authority informs the public that due to exceedingly low water levels at its Half Acre reservoir in the north, there will be an emergency shutdown to some of the pipelines in this system from 10 p.m. this evening until 4 a.m. tomorrow.
This will continue daily until further notice in an effort to allow the reservoir to replenish.
Some residents in the parish of St Lucy will experience water outages during this time.
They include Colleton, Clinketts, Half Moon Fort, Sutherland, Fustic Village, Checker Hall, Maycock, Broomfield, Friendly Hall, Husbands, Harrison, Crab Hill, Babylon Bourbon, Trents, Swampy Town, Nessfield, Hannays, Salmond, Grape Hall, Cluffs, Greenidge, Bright Hall, Connell Town, Roaches, Flat Field, Northumberland, River Bay, Hope Road, Harris, Spring Hall, Bishops and Rockfield.
There will also be outages in Six Mens, St Peter.
In addition, the nightly shut off at Golden Ridge Pumping Station is still in effect from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m.
During this period, districts in St Thomas, St George, St John and St Philip will be impacted and will include Hopewell, Vaucluse, Content, Rock Hall, Shop Hill, Christie Village, Cane Garden Heights, Proute, Strong Hope; Applewaites, Locust Hall, Bournes Village, Paradise, Jericho, Market Hill, Cottage Grove Development, Cottage Retreat, Newbury, Todds; Tappy Pond, Wilson Hill , Sherbourne, Claybury, Cherry Grove, Pool, Four Roads, Lemon Arbor, Gall Hill, Carters , Glebe Land, Clifton Hall, Edge Cliff, Church View, Newcastle, Foster Hall, Messiah Street, Colleton, Coach Hill, Sargeant Street, Pothouse, Society, Church View; Dodds, Moncrieffe, Parish Land and neighbouring districts.
Residents in these areas are advised to store water.
