WI forced to follow on

GALLE – West Indies found themselves on the back foot as they were forced to follow on in the opening Test against Sri Lanka on Friday.

Resuming the third day on 66 for two, they were dismissed for 251 in their first innings in reply to the hosts’ 484.

Darren Bravo topscored with 50 while left-arm spinner Rangana Herath finished with six for 68.

At stumps West Indies were 67 for 2 having lost both openers. Kraigg Brathwaite made 34 while Shai Hope scored six.

Darren Bravo is not out on 20 while Devendra Bishoo has so far scored six. (NB)
