Daniel made to fight for semis place

DEFENDING CHAMPION Julian “Michael Jackson” White and losing 2014 finalist Antonio “Lil Man” Daniel advanced to the semi-finals of the Silver Hill Road Tennis Championship in contrasting styles in front of a massive crowd of over 2 500 spectators on Saturday night.

Playing against the resolute Dave Arendell, Daniel squeezed home 15-21, 21-18, 21-16 in an absorbing match.

In the opening exchanges, fans were expecting Daniel’s feared smashes and deadly injections but his shots were spoiling faster than a set of ripe avocado inappropriately packed under a dozen dried coconuts. It meant that Arendell was able to take charge of the first game 11-3 and 13-4 to create a stir at Silver Hill.
