Cavs one win from title

ONE GAME down. One more to go.

Title No. 12 is but the bounce of a basketball away for Station Hill, as the Lady Cavs survived a threatening late-game rally before holding on to beat UWI Blackbirds 54-50 in Sunday’s Game 1 of the No.1 Beauty Supplies and Beauty Exchange league finals.

It was just another victory in a long line for the undisputed queens, whose series opening victory at the Barbados Community College put them on the verge of their 12th league crown in 15 years.

But while Cavs’ hold on local hoops has been firm, their grip on that game wasn’t quite the same.
