DUE TO A suspected gas leak, students of the Combermere School were sent home around mid-morning today.
When the NATION arrived on the scene parents were already collecting their charges. Students who spoke to the media complained of headaches and nausea while some sixth formers said it was affecting their learning.
One student explained that he heard a hissing sound which seemed to be coming from the canteen and was then instructed by a teacher to leave the compound.
Efforts to reach principal Vere Parris were futile as strict security guards said the media were not allowed on the property. (MR)
