OPPOSITION MEMBER OF Parliament for St George South Dwight Sutherland has called the Greenland Landfill an “error” on the part of the former Barbados Labour Party administration and  he has warned government not to make the same mistake with the proposed Cahill waste to energy project.

When the House debated a resolution to compulsorily acquire land at Vaucluse, St Thomas for the Sanitation Service Authority’s green energy programme earlier today, Sutherland declared: “The Greenland Landfill was an error.”

He told the DLP parliamentarians: “We were wrong then, and you are wrong now.”

Sutherland called for public consultation and a social impact assessment so that Barbadians and stakeholders in the Cahill project could have faith in the project.(GC)
