THE INVESTIGATION into allegations of intimacy between female prison officers and ex-prisoners took a new twist yesterday. Police detectives questioned one of the officers who is believed to be involved in an affair with a former inmate.
According to sources, the female officer was interviewed at length by investigators but later released.
The development followed reports about a full-scale probe being launched by senior administrators at Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds after it was discovered that an ex-prisoner on bail on a murder charge and now in police custody in connection with the suspected murder of missing woman, 75-year-old Marcelle Smith, might have been involved in a courtship with a female prison officer.
A picture circulated on social media featured the murder suspect and two female prison officers socialising on a pleasure boat cruise.
