BARBADOS WILL BE staying in Group I.

Hometown hero Darian King delivered again, ensuring the hosts avoided relegation with a straight sets victory that gave Barbados an unassailable 3-1 lead in their Davis Cup tennis tie against Uruguay.

Playing at the National Tennis Centre, King overcame some nervous moments and saved a set point in the first before beating Santiago Maresca 7-6 (8-6), 6-2, 6-0 in today’s first reverse singles.

The result means Uruguay will play in Group II next year. (JM)
