MISSING WOMAN Marcelle Smith, whose body was found two Saturdays ago, died as a result of strangulation.
According to police sources, an autopsy conducted yesterday by a Jamaican forensic pathologist also positively identified the remains that were found at a ravine in Halton, St Philip, to be the 75-year-old of Farm Road in the same parish.
Smith, wife of retired Lodge School principal Aurelius Smith, had mysteriously disappeared around October 12, and six days later the silver grey Toyota Yaris she was driving was found abandoned in the vicinity of Chelston Park, St Michael.
Cheriss Omar Ince, a 36-year-old carpenter, of Nursery No. 2, Four Roads, St Philip, has been charged with stealing the car. (TS)
