THE 2015 ALL HALLOWS’ EVE got a dancehall injection courtesy of Jamaican artiste Aidonia.
Real name Sheldon Aitana Ricardo Lawrence, the singer hit the stage of the Project Sweat Halloween event at Kensington Oval last Saturday just after 3 a.m.
The exuberant dancehall artiste brought energy to the set he performed before a moderate crowd of superheroine, guys and ghouls, who screamed, yelled and shook the barrier separating the stage.
It was hit after hit for Aidonia with patrons singing along. Holding down the fort before the main act “shelled down” were local acts Stiffy and Lady Essence, along with the spooktacular disk jockeys of the night, Peter Coppin & Monstapiece, Mikey Dread & Bon, Hutchy & Sizz, Ras & Chasey, Diamond & The Diamond Dancers, Sheldon Papp & Level Vibes and Indian & Chris Gayle.
Though the patrons quite enjoyed the spectacle put on by the Jamaican giant and volunteer dance partners from the audience, the mass of people thinned marginally before Aidonia’s appearance. (SM/TTY)
