THE MEMBERS OF the Lions Club of Bridgetown were commended for a job well done on two projects by their District Governor today.
District Governor Marvin Grant toured the Centre for the Blind and Deaf and the Geriatric Hospital to assess the improvements which have been made at the facilities by the Lions.
He was accompanied by zone chairperson Roger Padmore, president Stephenson Yearwood, second vice president Cy Francis and social services chairperson Cherrol Deane.
In the Centre for the Blind and Deaf, Grant watched as the blind and visually impaired demonstrated a number of skills including mop making, caning furniture, computer literacy and Braille typing.
At the Geriatric Hospital in Beckles Road, St Michael, sister Oneta Bannister thanked the members for successfully completing various projects which have improved security and comfort such as the installation of benches, privacy screens and cupboards. (LT)
