Lift them up!

CHILDREN OF THE Reynold Weekes Primary School were encouraged to be of service to their country by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave.

On a visit to the Four Roads, St Philip school yesterday, Sir Elliott urged the students to give of their best, similar to the politician the school is named after.

“Your marks can be improved in mathematics and English . . . . Teachers and students, you must make a determined effort to lift the standard and so honour the late Reynold Weekes who made a substantial contribution to this parish and Barbados in general,” Sir Elliott remarked.

He urged them to work their hardest at their school work and “not take any short-cuts”. (MR)
