Agard on nine charges

Embattled Barbados Labour Party MP Dr Maria Agard will face her political prosecutors and possibly her political future next Sunday evening at 5 p.m.

The Christ Church West representative, who has been at war with her riding’s own executive as well as the leadership of her party for several weeks, has been summoned to court at party headquarters, Grantley Adams House, Roebuck Street, St Michael, on November 22 to answer nine charges before the BLP’s National Council.

She stands charged with “breaches of discipline” in accordance with Rule 81 of the BLP’s constitution, and she has been invited to have a lawyer present to represent her at the location where normally she would be engaged in discussions on fighting enemies outside of the party.
