Bats fail to fire

THE MODERATE standard of batsmanship at the regional level was manifested at Kensington Oval yesterday with a painstaking display of below-par batting and snail-pace scoring by both sides.

Firstly, Barbados Pride only eked out a further 53 runs in 27.3 overs and lost their last six wickets to be dismissed for 300 in their first innings, after resuming from an encouraging first day score of 247 for four.

In reply, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force also struggled, ending the second day of their second round WICB Professional Cricket League first-class match on 153 for five in 62 overs as only 206 runs were scored overall in 89.3 overs.
