MEN’S HEALTH TOOK a front seat today as an outreach programme came to the doors of the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic.

Staff nurse Mutual Archer who was in charge of the day’s proceedings kicked off the event by proclaiming, “No man will leave Warrens today without being tested!”

The Warrens polyclinic hosted the event put on by the Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Bureau of Gender Affairs.

Under a tent in front of the polyclinic, men lined up to have tests for prostate-specific antigen tests, BMI, HIV testing, blood pressure and sugar.

The staff nurse said “Men normally shy away or are for some reason fearful of being tested so today we’re giving them the opportunity to be tested free of cost”.

Archer called on men to take an interest in their health.

Testing was not the only aspect of the day.

Archer said the polyclinic would be conducting an exercise challenge session later in the evening which was held by the National Task Force on Fitness and Exercise through the Ministry of Sports and Culture. (AD)
