CLASSICAL POPS, the show that brings Broadway performers and world-class classical music to the Barbadian stage is back for the second year after a successful staging last year.

Chief organiser Michael Aiken was clearly excited about this year’s show as he shared details with guests at a cocktail launch at Apes Hill Club last week.

Local business magnate Sir Charles Williams stepped up enthusiastically to the podium to say why he offered his upscale West Coast venue for the festival last year and expressed delight at again making the idyllic outdoor setting available to the world-famous musicians and singers and to the many visitors who will be coming to Barbados to patronise the festival.

Chairman of the local branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Cheryll Belle and other executive members of the society, executive director of the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association, Sue Springer, and chief executive officer of the National Cultural Foundation, Cranston Browne, were among the guests.
