AN UNRULY CROWD led to the abandonment of a match in the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Council Football Tournament at Bayville on Friday night.

The entertaining match between home team St Michael South and bitter rivals City of Bridgetown had to be abandoned in the 76th minute after the crowd encroached onto the field of play.

Numerous attempts by the referee to get the crowd to stay behind the touchlines proved to be futile and the match was ultimately called off.

Tournament coordinator Mark “Bob” Forde told SunSport that the committee would meet within the next few days to determine what course of action to take.

St Michael South were leading 2-1 when the match was abandoned. (PG)
