ATTORNEY GENERAL and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite has vowed to lead the charge in the eradication of drugs, drug barons and illegal firearms in Barbados.

And beginning in the early new year, he has pledged to amend the Proceeds Of Crime Act to give police the liberty to seize the assets of individuals with “a big fancy car” or “a big fancy house” but no proof of employment.

Additionally, he said he would mandate that fishing boats, pleasure crafts and similar vessels no longer be allowed to leave or enter Barbados at points other than the designated ports of entry.

His comments came on Sunday night at a joint Democratic Labour Party St Philip West, South and North constituency branch meeting at Hilda Skeene Primary School. (SDB Media)
