Most MPs mum on Agard issue

FROM THE RUM SHOP to the storeroom and the boardroom, the expulsion of Dr Maria Agard from the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) was the hottest topic yesterday, but among the party’s MPs hardly a comment could be obtained.

While St Andrew MP George Payne blasted the decision as unfair and his St Thomas colleague Cynthia Forde said she was sorry about the turn of events, all others declined to comment directly or could not be reached.

St James North representative Edmund Hinkson was adamant he was not making a comment, but instead was listening to what everyone else was saying.

“What I can tell you is that I am doing all in my power to see that the Barbados Labour Party wins the next election, and the first step in the process is to see that I win back my own seat. That is as much as I will say,” Hinkson told the DAILY NATION.  (RRM)
